This year the weather was against us for the Fun in Action Easter Picnic. It was cold, rainy, blustery and grey. But did that stop us?? No way!
Although many families stayed home this year there was a small and dedicated group of Fun in Action Easter Picnickers. All in all 31 people piled into the Fun in Action Offices for some Easter Fun despite the weather.
Some of our Egg-cellent volunteers ran arts and crafts tables where the kids decorated Easter Eggs, made Bunny Bookmarks, and painted & coloured in Easter Pictures. But the main fun at the arts and crafts table was making ‘Whirly-Gigs’ (little fabric pouches filled with rice with streamers attached). The kids decorated their Whirly-Gigs and then Anne gave everyone a lesson in Whirly-Gig tossing down the hallway. We put up a target and saw who could hit the bull’s eye with their Whirly-Gig. The kids loved it! A game that will surely make another appearance at this year’s Fun in Action’s Summer BBQ in July.
Even though we weren’t at Preston Park, as is usual for the Easter Picnic, The ASDA Easter Bunny found us at the office anyway with bags of Easter Eggs. The kids all left happy armed with enough chocolate to keep them going for quite some time. Thank you ASDA Easter Bunny!
The kids had a great time despite the weather and it will always be remembered as the’ Easter Picnic at the Office ‘
Now let’s cross our fingers for sunshine at the Summer BBQ!
