Preston Park has a permanent orienteer course. You can get the map for this by emailing poc@southdowns-orienteers.org.uk. It's a good way to introduce children to map reading. Probably best for 9 year olds or older.

A good staple if you're looking for some space in Brighton!
Preston Park always seems to have something to offer whatver the weather. If you're driving you can usually park along Preston Park avenue. Good opportunities for safe bike-riding, kite-flying and the children's play area is pretty good too. Also, public tennis courts and some nice cafes. On a summers day we've managed two or three hours here quite easily!
