Have you got what it takes to change a child's life?

Fun In Action for Children is looking for adult volunteers to befriend disadvantaged children from lone parent families. We have a mixture of boys and girls, some are teenagers with low self-esteem and others are younger children who need the additional support of a caring adult.

We are looking for:

  • Mature, stable adults to reliably offer support and guidance
  • Adults who care about children’s well being & enjoy their company
  • Someone who can commit for 2 years to a relationship with a child
  • Someone who can give 3-4 hours per week to a child

Befrienders work with the child’s family to help improve the well being and self-esteem of the child

We pay expenses and offer preparatory training and ongoing support. Our commitment to child safety means you will be required to undergo a full professional appraisal and complete a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure before being accepted as a befriender.
