FUN In Action is run by:
Anne McLaren: Project ManagerAnne is a qualified senior social worker with over 20 years previous relevant experience in social work, youth and community work and children's education. Samantha King-Grant: Volunteer Recruitment & Screening WorkerSam is a psychologist with extensive experience in the voluntary sector. She has worked with families who have experienced domestic violence and also with young mothers in a training and advocacy role. Ghislaine Picchio: AdministratorGhislaine is a trained social worker with extensive experience with children as well as in alternative health and counselling. Anne, Ghislaine and Samantha work part-time, but the office is covered every weekday. Our work is supervised by an external consultant psychotherapist and overseen by the Management Committee who act as Trustees and have responsibility for the proper running of the organisation and its finances. The Committee meets 6 times per year.
Management Committee Members
Jonathan Stearn – Media Advisor12 years in communications, public relations, journalism and campaigning with eight years management experience. Previously worked for Age Concern, Home Office Active Community Unit and Campaigning group, End Child Poverty. Brendan Hanlon – Fundraising AdvisorHas 12 years in the voluntary sector. Head of Fundraising for a large charity supporting young people in inner cities. Experienced in all aspects of fundraising and business planning and holds a marketing qualification. Previously volunteer mentor for young people. Jonathan Carr – Heath and Safety & Charity lawHe is a qualified solicitor with experience in Employment and Charity law. Currently a Politics and History teacher in secondary school. Has worked as a volunteer with disabled and underprivileged children in Russia and on local Mencap Committee. Peter Kempton – Acting Treasurer and non-voting memberAdvisor on all aspects relating to the financial propriety and management of the service. Ralph CraneRalph is a Brighton based solicitor. He has been befriending with Fun in Action for 6 years and has just started a second Fun friendship. Camilla O'DonnellCamilla is an experienced barrister specialising in family law.
