"The experience of FUN in Action is second to none and their commitment on their limited funds is outstanding and unbelieveable."
John, lone father of 2 boys on the scheme.
How we obtain our funding
Fun in Action has in the past been funded largely by Trusts (national and local), company giving and personal donations. In addition we received 3 years funding from 2001 to 2004 from the Home Office Active Community Unit. We have an excellent track record and reputation amongst our funders, but like many small charities we have found new funding sources difficult to come by.
Whilst funding is more and more difficult to find, demand for our service has increased substantially over the last two years. With our current resources we are only able to meet around 50% of these demands which leaves many unhappy and troubled children without the extra adult support they need.
We have recently secured a small grant of £10,000 per annum from the Local Authority over 3 years. Although welcome, this represents less than a sixth of the overall running costs for a year for the charity.
Trustees on the Fun in Action Management Committee have drawn up a detailed strategy guide with the purpose of consolidating and expanding our funding base and security over the next 3 years. It involves more strategic planning for the future including spreading our net to secure support from a diverse range of sources.
We continue to rely on the generosity of individuals to make up most of the shortfall on our budget. We are extremely grateful for all support, however big or small. You can choose to support our work in a number of ways:
